PURPOSEFUL COLLABORATION: PARTNERSHIPS, INDUSTRY STAKEHOLDERS, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Global Footprint, Engagement, and Impact The CBE has successfully transitioned from a model of international visibility to one of accelerating global momentum, characterised by 14 active and high-productivity partnerships spanning Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. In 2025 collaboration and partnerships further focused on strengthening global south partnerships. These collaborations are far more than symbolic; they are active, productive engines that generate measurable value across research, teaching, postgraduate development, and societal impact. Across the African continent in particular, the CBE has emerged as a trusted convener and strategic partner. This leadership is demonstrated through flagship initiatives such as the Pan-African Partnership Conference and the co-hosting of major international conferences. Furthermore, we have made a deliberate effort to strengthen regional postgraduate ecosystems through doctoral co-supervision, external examination networks, and the strategic recruitment of postdoctoral research fellows. Beyond the continent, our global engagement is anchored by a commitment to both academic solidarity and research excellence. Partnerships with institutions such as the Maldives National University are expanding our international research mobility and scholar pipeline, while our collaboration with Birzeit University in Palestine reflects a dedication to sustained academic engagement in contexts shaped by conflict and disruption. These relationships are further amplified through structured European mobility opportunities, largely supported by Erasmusfunded collaborations. Our partnership with Laurea University in Finland has established a robust staff and student exchange pipeline, whilst staff mobility has been successfully activated through engagements with Afyon Kocatepe University in Türkiye, the Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania, and the Krakow University of Economics in Poland. The impact of this global footprint is further reflected in our high-volume programme of inbound and outbound academic engagements throughout 2025. This comprehensive programme included guest lectures, workshops, and capacitybuilding interventions that reached more than 2 500 students and staff participants. Our statistics for the year show a remarkable level of activity, with 1 716 outbound mobility engagements and 852 inbound mobility engagements.
