Nelia Frade
Dr Nelia Frade is a senior coordinator at the Centre for Academic Staff Development (CASD) at the University of Johannesburg. Her role is to provide strategic leadership to ensure that tutorials remain integral to teaching and learning. Her research interests include: the role of tutors in promoting student success, integrating tutorials into the curriculum, blended learning environments, student development theories and student engagement and involvement theories. Dr Frade is the Project Lead for the HELTASA Student Learning Project.
Raymod Robinson
Raymond Robinson is a tutor coordinator at the Centre for Academic Staff Development (CASD). He started his academic career in the Department of Sociology at the then Rand Afrikaans University. In 2010, he moved into
CASD after several years’ experience as a tutor. He is currently involved in tutor training and tutor support on the Doornfontein and Soweto Campus.
He has an MA degree in Sociology. His research interests include responsive tutor training and varied models of tutor training facilitation.
Queenta Anyele Sindoh
Queenta Anyele Sindoh is a tutor coordinator at the Centre for Academic Staff Development (CASD). She holds
a BA (Honours) in Translation and Interpreting from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and an MA degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Johannesburg. Ms Anyele started working as a tutor in 2012 and became
a senior tutor in 2013. She currently coordinates the tutor programme on the Bunting campus for the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. She is actively involved in the training and support of academic staff and tutors. Her research interests include social inclusion, social justice and equality.
