             Shahed Nalla
Shahed Nalla commenced his academic career as a Human Anatomy and Physiology lecturer at the University of Johannesburg (then Technikon Witwatersrand) in January 1994.
Shahed is a Research Associate: GIAVAL Research Group, Department of Anatomy and Human Embryology, University of Valencia, Spain and was appointed as an Honorary Research Associate/Fellow of the Evolutionary Studies Institute (ESI)
of the University of the Witwatersrand (2014–2018). He is currently an
Honorary Research Fellow: Centre for
the Exploration of the Deep Human Journey, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
Shahed is an external examiner for UG offerings and Master’s dissertations and PhD theses at several national Anatomy departments. He is an external reviewer of Anatomy offerings in South Africa and internationally; a reviewer for national and international journals in Anatomy/ Clinical Anatomy/Palaeontology; and a reviewer for academic promotions and NRF applications panel reviewer.
Sundika Ishwarkumar
Sundika Ishwarkumar graduated with a B.Medical Science degree with a double major in Anatomy and Microbiology;
an honours and master’s degree in Medical Science, both majoring in Clinical Anatomy at the University of KwaZulu- Natal. She is currently pursuing a PhD degree in Health Sciences, specialising
in Dental Anatomy. Her research niche is Forensic Anthropology, Forensic Dental Anatomy, and Clinical and Developmental Anatomy. She is a member of the Anatomical Society of Southern Africa, for which she served as a Student Representative (2018 to 2019), and a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
Pilani Nkomozepi
Pilani Nkomozepi holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of the Witwatersrand, School of Anatomical Sciences. He is currently the HOD for
the Department of Human Anatomy
and Physiology and a senior lecturer in Human Anatomy. His research is centred on the impact of metabolic syndromes including diabetes on the morphology and function of the brain. He is a member of the Anatomical Society of Southern Africa (ASSA), where he serves as the ASSA council representative to the
South Africa National Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) and
a member of the International Brain Research Organisation (IBRO).
