T and Piggott. L. ‘’Workplace’ or Workforce: What Are We Preparing Students For? (2020). Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice, 17(4). https://doi.org/10.53761/1.17.4.11 Students will be afforded an assignment to submit their CVs into the module, and the panel will be granted access to the specific folder to assess the CVs using a designated rubric. Furthermore, time (assessment period and module period) will be dedicated in consultation with students from September to October 2024 to set up the simulation interviews, one exercise the students indicated they would benefit from if afforded the opportunity. Students will be divided into groups, and the simulation interviews will be arranged over three days for ease of management. The rubrics will be designed with internal and external environmental health experts and career development practitioners. Rubrics will be used to assess CVs and the simulation interviews, which aim to assist forthcoming final-year groups of students in preparing for entry into the industry in each of the future academic years. Winchester-Seeto and Piggott, (2020) highlight that with creative approaches, we may be able to design experiences and opportunities for students to learn certain things outside the workplace. This project will benefit students to be industry-ready, equipping them with employment soft skills in preparation for the environmental health job market.
