13 TPC and CBE hackathon The Technopreneurship Centre (TPC), in collaboration with the College of Business and Economics (CBE) and Geekulcha, organised the TPCHackCBE Hackathon, an exciting event focused on the theme of ‘Digitising CBE: The future of smart working people’. With 14 impressive teams competing, the energy and creativity were off the charts. Congratulations to the winners of each category: Administration Challenge winners: Team Fearless, made up of Kerin Moodley, Zwivhuya Dahana, Kelebogile Nethengwe, Kimberley Isaac, and Nolifa Mondlana. They focused on digitising the appointment of temporary staff and short learning programme applications. Postgraduate Challenge winners: Team Hack_Are_Tech, made up of Caleb Diba, Sabelo Ndlovu, Gradi Mudiangombe, Nokuhle Ngubane, Mukelani Mashoba, and Nombali Mafa. They digitised the HDS process, which focuses on managing postgraduates. The Research Challenge winners: Team X, made up of Zwivhuya Nyambeni and Aaron Kibambe. They digitised all of the researchers in CBE in order to promote collaboration among them by consolidating their profiles, citations, publications, and more. Each team displayed remarkable talent and dedication throughout the event. The TPC is grateful to all of the participants, who poured their hearts and minds into developing innovative solutions for the CBE. The hard work and passion demonstrated during the hackathon were truly inspiring. A special ‘thank you’ also goes to everyone who supported the hackathon, especially the mentors, judges, and sponsors.
