10 FNB visits W&R SETA youth On 17 May 2023, an enthusiastic team from First National Bank (FNB) visited participants in the Youth Employment Project, which is under the guidance of the W&R Leadership (Gauteng) Chair. The team dedicated a full day to engaging with and educating the participants about financial literacy. We are grateful for the partnership and collaboration between FNB, the University of Johannesburg, and the School of Consumer Intelligence and Information Systems (SCiiS), and for the invaluable connections made by Bradley Shodries, a UJ alumnus who now works in the banking industry. Together they are making a positive impact on the youth of South Africa, equipping them with the tools for a brighter financial future. Successful integrated assessment with Cresta Shopping Centre The BCom Honours Marketing Management students engaged in an integrated assessment across three of their first semester modules: Services Marketing, Strategic Brand Management, and Strategic Digital Marketing. The integrated assessment is used to improve the congruence between programme- and module-level learning outcomes and assessment design, to help students to understand better how they are progressing in the different modules, and to equip them effectively with skills of selfregulation for professional learning beyond the programme. As part of the assessment, the Department of Marketing Management partnered with the Cresta Shopping Centre. The students were required to develop marketing solutions for specific challenges facing Cresta. The lecturers who facilitated this project were Dr Beate Stiehler-Mulder and Prof. Ilse Struweg.
