25 UJ MarketingFit academic series The 2022 UJMarketingFit online academic series by the Department of Marketing Management, in collaboration with the UJ Library, took place during October, and featured some of the world’s leading marketing scholars. The series took place over three days, and was facilitated by Prof. Ilse Struweg, Coordinator of External Scholarly Relations in the Marketing Department. Prof. Nripendra P. Rana (Qatar University, Qatar) launched the series on 3 October 2022, discussing Applying DEMATEL (a multi-criteria decisionmaking technique) in understanding consumer retention at authorised automobile workshops after free services (click HERE to watch). On 4 October, Prof. Jukka Ojasalo (Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Finland) took centre stage, talking about Service technologies for customer interface: Opportunities for new services (click HERE to watch.) The final session took place on 6 October with Prof. Mike Ewing (Deakin University, Australia) unpacking the importance of Predicting customer churn (click HERE to watch). AIS women in ICT – The future of data privacy and cybersecurity The Department of Applied Information Systems (AIS), in collaboration with the UJ Alumni Office, hosted a successful ‘Women in ICT’ webinar event on 11 August 2022, facilitated by senior lecturer Dr Shopee Dube. The theme of the event was The future of data privacy and cybersecurity, and the keynote address was delivered by Adv. Lufuno Khorommbi (Director: Specialist Data Privacy and Cyber Security Governance (CSG) with Orizur Consulting Enterprise). An illustrious alumnus, Natalie Naidoo – who is a Senior Consultant: Information Security team at TransUnion – delivered an address on behalf of UJ AIS alumni.
