STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT National Involvement • National engagement includes attendance of/ visits to: • Inter-institutional Academic Planning Forum • CHE workshops on the new Quality Assurance Framework • CHE Joint IQAF Working Group to develop standards for Higher Education • DHET workshops • SAAIR Forum • HELTASA Special Interest Groups (Professional, and Tutoring and Mentoring) • Southern African Learning and Teaching (SAULT) Forum • ESRC/NRF Funded Southern African Rurality in Higher Education (SARiHE) Research Project • Teaching Advancement at University (TAU) Fellowships • Continuous engagement with the DHET, CHE and SAQA in a variety of forums / roles • National Coordinating Committee of the National Framework for the Enhancement of Academics as Teachers • Membership of the editorial board of the SoTL in the South journal. Internal Engagement The staff of the Division engage with a wide variety of the University’s stakeholders in the course of their work. In addition, they support to a range of domains in the University. Staff in the DTE are members of the following structures and university activities, and serve on a range of UJ committees, task teams, and working groups, including: • Programme Working Group • Faculty Review Management Committees • Teaching Portfolio assessment Committee (TPAC) • Student Success Committee (SSC) • Steering Committee Online Programmes (SOP) • Steering Committee for Enhancing Academics as Teachers • Senate Teaching and Learning Committee • Senate • When necessary, members make presentations to Faculty boards, and other similar forums. 2023 ANNUAL REPORT DIVISION FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE 80
