2023 Annual Report | Division for Teaching Excellence

The second initiative that CAPQP undertook in 2023, was the “Ask us Anything” initiative. The purpose of this initiative was to visit all four UJ campuses where colleagues from different environments were invited to a two-hour session where they could pose any quality-related questions to the team. As a start, this was a limited success as, even though the attendance was not what we expected (perhaps due to the timing - October / November), those who did attend were thoroughly engaged in the discussions and raised valuable questions. The lessons learned in 2023 will inform future sessions. Work- Integrated Education: Principles and Praxis What does curriculum transformation mean for Zoology? Attendees expressed the desire for CAPQP staff to take part in internal quality-related discussions at departmental level. CAPQP welcomed this invitation. The total number of attendees in all the workshops conducted in 2023 is approximately 580 UJ staff members, the majority of which are academic staff members and very few administrative staff who support the academic functioning of these programmes at the faculty level. 2023 ANNUAL REPORT DIVISION FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE 71
