During this period, an additional 17 new subsidised programmes and 2 non-subsidised whole programmes were loaded onto the APTS. This means that the system is up to date. The internal programme development and approval process was also updated to remove duplication and to ensure version control of documents. Two additional steps were requested in 2023 by the Registrar and the DVC: Academic. These are the financial feasibility and facilities availability reports which will be required before a programme is submitted to the PWG. In 2023, the APTS functionality to generate reports for SENEX and STLC to facilitate internal tracking was activated. Capacity-building initiatives In 2023, the CAPQP team engaged in extensive capacity-building initiatives which were aimed at capacitating the team with advanced skills and knowledge in working with the regulatory bodies, policies, and frameworks. An example of such an initiative is the in-house ‘Coffee Table Discussions’ that there were hosted by CAPQP staff. Topics for discussion came from the different team members and ranged from seeking more information on the regulatory and more teaching and learning aspects of CAPQP’s work. This initiative became a great platform for the staff to engage with documentation from the regulatory bodies such as CHE. It also became a platform from which to make sense of the newly introduced Quality Assurance Framework (QAF). The information received through the Coffee Table discussions has placed the team ahead of colleagues from other institutions, not only in understating the framework, but also in engaging more in discussions that involved everyone in the sector and at conferences. Thank you Mthu. I really appreciate your assistance, hard work and planning to make today a success. 2023 ANNUAL REPORT DIVISION FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE 70
