CAPQP promotes and supports all activities involved in assuring the quality of programmes. CAPQP staff work with academics, administrators, and support staff across the University as part of the quality enhancement processes, ensuring that through the IQA system, the University’s quality goals are achieved, and the compliance requirements of the state are met. Academic planning is directed at the accreditation of new programmes and amendments to existing programmes, while quality promotion focuses on the improvement of quality at programme and discipline level and provides capacity development opportunities for UJ staff. In 2023, the Centre was responsible for and completed reviews requested by the STLC: a review of undergraduate assessment, of extended curricula programmes (ECPs) and of moderation practices. 2023 ANNUAL REPORT DIVISION FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE 67
