Teaching and Module Evaluations In 2023 CASD piloted an in-house evaluation system. The system was developed in collaboration with Prof Ade-Ibijola in the Johannesburg Business School and was designed to enable staff to have greater agency regarding the timing of the evaluation of their modules and to help facilitate reflection on practice based using student feedback. As with all new systems, there were problems with the system which were addressed, and it continues to be upgraded to ensure it is user-friendly. More than 1700 requests for evaluations were processed through the new system, however many requests generated fewer responses than anticipated. This design concern will be addressed in 2024. The figures for each faculty are as follows: CBE 494 EDU 222 FADA 68 FEBE 259 HSC 250 HUM 162 JBS 2 LAW 54 SCI 274 • In addition to the above, CASD conducted approximately 80 manual evaluations, of these 11 were for postgraduate supervision. 2023 ANNUAL REPORT DIVISION FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE 59
