The PGDipHE has grown over the last two years as more staff see the value of the ways in which the qualification can enhance their practice as teachers in higher education. The external evaluators for the summative assessments in some of the modules as well as the portfolio tasks in others, provided favourable feedback on the quality of the programme and its relevance in the higher education sector. With respect to the Social Inclusion module, the external examiner commented as follows: In the final analysis, it is a combination of features that contributes to the strength of this module. This begins with the topic itself which exemplifies a responsive, relevant, and timely curriculum, linked to a wide range of assessment tasks which assess different skills and values, and which are all accompanied by explicit guidelines and detailed rubrics aligned to the module outcomes.
