Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education This importance of teaching and learning to academic staff is evident in the growth in the numbers of students registering for a formal qualification in this area. In the 2022 academic year the CASD had the largest number of students (32) enrolled for the PGDip (HE) since the inception of the offering at UJ. The programme attracts students from UJ and a number of higher education institutions around South Africa. Nineteen students completed the programme in 2022 and will graduate in 2023. Teaching and Module Evaluations Student feedback on teaching serves as useful tool for academic staff to reflect on and improve their teaching and assessment practices. Staff provide evidence of improvements in these practices in their teaching portfolios which they develop for promotion applications. In 2022 teaching and module evaluations were conducted on the following dates Period Date Term 1 2-9 March 2022 Term 2 23 May-9 June 2022 Term 3 29 August- 16 September 2022 Term 4 17 – 28 October 2022 A total of 1 516 Teaching and Module Evaluations were conducted for taught modules. Table 20 below provides a breakdown of the evaluations conducted per faculty. In addition to these 146 postgraduate supervision evaluations were conducted.
