[ 23 ] [ UJ TRANSFORMATION UNIT n APRIL 2024 ] FOCUS ON GENDER, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION UJ Gender Equity Framework The Gender Equity Unit has been extending the Institution’s Gender Equity Framework (GEF) to various faculties and divisions. The framework aims to establish what divisions and faculties are doing in their domains to contribute to achieving gender equity and equality within the institution, including reporting on all gender agenda targets. The framework is also futuristic in that it addresses what various divisions and faculties can do to ensure that gender equity is realised. There is value in establishing how UJ as a whole is doing to realise gender equity and equality. While there has been cooperation and willingness from most divisions and faculties, there is however, outstanding information and reporting from a few. Contributions from all faculties and divisions will assist in establishing a clearer picture of the University’s progress in gender, diversity and inclusion, at large.
